Funerals

A funeral ceremony is not only about loss, it is about connection

Saying goodbye is one of the hardest moments we face, and it deserves to be met with care, calm, and compassion.

A funeral ceremony is not only about loss, it is about connection. It is a time to reflect on a life lived, the relationships formed, and the moments that continue to matter.

I create modern, thoughtful funeral ceremonies that are shaped around the person who has died and the people who are grieving them. Each ceremony is written with sensitivity, using language that feels honest, inclusive, and unhurried.

Even in the darkest times, there are moments of warmth and clarity, memories, stories, and shared love that gently bring light into the space. My role is to help hold that space, allowing remembrance and presence to sit side by side.

Together, we create a ceremony that honours a life, acknowledges loss, and offers comfort through connection, reflection, and what remains.

My path to becoming a funeral celebrant has been shaped by people, connection, and care.

For over twenty years, I worked in education in senior leadership and pastoral roles, supporting young people, families, and colleagues through moments of challenge, change, and uncertainty. Much of my work involved listening carefully, holding difficult conversations, offering reassurance, and creating calm, structured spaces when emotions were high. Supporting others through sensitive and deeply personal situations has been at the heart of my career.

Alongside leadership responsibilities, I worked closely with families, external agencies, and safeguarding services, often navigating complex and emotional circumstances. These experiences taught me the importance of compassion, clarity, and trust and of taking the time to truly understand what matters to the people in front of you.

Over time, I felt drawn towards work that allowed me to focus more fully on people at key moments in their lives. Becoming a funeral celebrant felt like a natural progression into a way to use my skills, experience, and values in a setting where presence, sensitivity, and care matter deeply.

Through CK Ceremonies, I offer calm, modern funeral ceremonies shaped by connection and light. I take the time to listen, to learn about the person who has died, and to create a ceremony that feels honest, personal, and respectful. My approach is inclusive and unhurried, giving families space to reflect, remember, and honour a life in a way that feels right for them.

Whether a ceremony is simple or more detailed, my role is to hold the space with warmth and professionalism, guiding families through the process with care, clarity, and compassion.
